This 193-mile race begins off the coast of Astoria, Oregon, and finishes in the harbor at Victoria, British Columbia.

    Oregon Offshore International Yacht Race 2019 Astoria, Oregon, USA May 9 – 12, 2019 Corinthian Yacht Club of Portland Notice to Racers January 24, 2019 Both the Notice of Race (NOR) and the Safety Equipment Requirements (SER) have been amended as of this date. The substantive changes are shown below as a courtesy, however, skippers are advised to download the fully amended documents at www.oregonoffshore.org as the definitive authority for such changes. Notice of Race changes: 1.3 US Sailing Safety Equipment Regulations Coastal Category (SERs) as modified by the Organizing Authority will apply. [DP] SERs are available for download at www.oregonoffshore.org. 1.4 Transponders, provided by CYC of Portland, shall be equipped on all boats. [DP] 4.4 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the race is 0900 hours (PDT), Thursday, May 9, 2019 – final determination to be announced at the Skipper’s Meeting 1800 hours (PDT), Wednesday, May 8, 2019. 8.1 ALTERNATE PENALTIES: Two (2) hours will be added to the finishing time of any boat On Course Side (OCS) at the Start in the event the boat does not exonerate itself by restarting. Safety Equipment Requirements (SER) changes; 3.8.4 A boat shall have an emergency VHF antenna with sufficient coax to reach the deck. [Length deleted] 3.9 All boats shall have an AIS Transponder, sharing a masthead VHF antenna via a low loss AIS antenna splitter. An acceptable alternative is a dedicated AIS antenna that is a minimum of 0.9 meters long, mounted with its base at least 3 meters above the water, and fed with coax that has a maximum 40% power loss. [Recommended - Not required] 3.13 A boat shall have a method of receiving weather information in addition to the fixed mount and hand held VHF radio.
