Join the Beverly PHRF fleets on July 20th for BYC’s 2019 Parker Converse Tower Race! The “Tower Race” is a long-standing mainstay of the Beverly Yacht Club’s racing season, named in honor of Parker “Rip” Converse, and was originated by his son, Courtland Converse, in 1968. Both Court and Rip were beloved Commodores of Beverly Yacht Club. The race reflects Rip’s keen interest in seamanship, coastal navigation, and local knowledge – after all, getting through Quick’s Hole and maneuvering the currents in Vineyard Sound is much more challenging than a straight shot to the Tower and back! Beverly will offer late launch service and refreshments for when boats return to port.
