Since 2008, John Larson’s daughter and widow, Deborah (Larson) Tyhurst and Betty Larson, have hosted his memorial race and assure that racers enjoy a few of John's favorites: sailing, rum, and chocolate chip cookies! This will be a Pursuit Race, ie, the boat with the highest PHRF handicap rating (theoretically, the slowest boat) starts first, and subsequent boats start in order of their decreasing ratings. The order in which the boats finish determines their places within each fleet. The racing area will be the coastal waters of Ventura County. The start and finish line will be near the entrance to Channel Islands Harbor.
