Good Morning VX One Winter Series Sailors,

Are you ready for some Sailing?

Boats have been arriving at Pensacola YC for several weeks now. At least 36 teams have entered, but some registrations are unpaid so not complete. Please check your entries to make sure yours is complete and your boat is on the list. Remember that each of the three regattas requires a separate registration. Registrants are from:

     USA

     CAN

     ISV

Bring your boots and Sailing gloves… The weather forecast looks promising with a windy day on Saturday and temps in the 70’s then windy and chilly 50’s on Sunday from the opposite direction, ie. The North. I’ve attached the GFS model's weather ‘guesses' from Predict Wind.

Thanks to support from Streamline Marinewe will be using MarkSetBots on our course this weekend and throughout the Winter Series. Remember to thank them for their support.

On top of Pensacola Bay being a world class sailing venue, Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key boast the world’s whitest beaches and the city has a rich history dating back to the first European settlement in North America.

Saturday evening Pensacola YC will serve some post-race refreshments dockside and on the front porch. After that you are on your own.

There is a lot to see and do this weekend in Pensacola. In the forefront on Saturday evening is the Annual Christmas Parade in the heart of the downtown entertainment district. The parade starts at 5:00PM moving slowly up North Palafox Street, then looping down to cross Garden Street (Hwy98) and head down Palafox Place toward Main street and Pensacola Bay. Enjoy the holiday fun with refreshments, dining, and shopping for all.

When you arrive at the yacht club this week, please check in with the dockmaster, Greg Spitzer. The VX One parking area is along the East boundary and is accessed by the road between the guest parking lot and the ballroom entrance to the club.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions…
