About Event

The Annual Peninsula Cup Regatta is one of the most exciting Lake Norman keelboat races with spinnaker, non-spinnaker, one design and cruising classes. Join the competitors to test your "go-fast" and strategy skills or just cruise along and enjoy sailing with other Lake Norman sailors. Come on back to Safe Harbor Peninsula Yacht Club after the day's events for a beverage and snacks.

    To all Pen Cup. Competitors: We were unable to fill Spinnaker Class, so the two boats that registered as spinnaker competitors have been moved to Non-Spinnaker accordingly to their PHRF rating: Gold Digger is now in the Under 170 Non-Spinnaker Class Sandpiper is now in the Over 170 Non-Spinnaker Class The elimination of the Spinnaker Class has changed the Class number designations as well: One Design is now Class 1 Non-Spinnaker Under 170 is still Class 2 Non-Spinnaker Over 170 is still Class 3 There will be three starts today in this same order. The start line is likely to be a little north of the Outrigger Shoal Marker. Winds are forecast to be light (~5k) from the NE shifting ENE over the course of the day.     Notice to all Pen Cup competitors. To manage the size of the non-spinnaker class and better to insure competitive racing, the Race Committee has divided the Non-Spinnaker Class into two classes: Boats with PHRF Under 170 and Boats with a PHRF Over 170. In addition, there is now a full Spinnaker Class. Classes will be identified by number: Class 1: Spinnaker Class 2: Non-Spinnaker Under 170 Class 3: Non-Spinnaker Above 170 Class 4: One Design This modifies Clause 2.2. of the NoR.
