In addition to our Adventure Sailing Camps, we will be offering two boater safety classes: an add-on two-day Boater Safety Class and a week-long Spirit of America Boater Education Class.
The two-day Boater Safety Class is intended to be an optional add-on class for those registered in Adventure Sailing. In order to register for the two-day class, one must also register for a week of Adventure Sailing. This two-day class will teach the Georgia DNR Boater Safety Course, allowing students to earn their state boater certification. Days will consist of the DNR workbook and test, followed by on-the-water lessons. Students will learn how to launch, maintain, and safely operate a small powerboat.
The Spirit of America Class is a stand alone class that includes the same curriculum from the two-day boater safety class plus teaches sailing on Hunter 15s, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. This 4 day class is another option for students to be able to earn their GA Safe Boater Certification and their Spirit of America Certification. It is also a great option for those campers looking for additional camps.
