The 28th annual North American championships for the International Hobie 17 class. Hobie Cat introduced the 17 in 1985, and like most of Hobie's products, it has several features found nowhere else in a single-handed catamaran. The "wings" give the 17 a distinctive look, and provide the leverage that makes the 17 an upwind machine.
